Toussaint Jean Baptiste Obituary (1939

Toussaint Jean Baptiste, a resident of Bridgeport, CT, passed away on February 28, 2021 from a heart attack a long battle with diabetes. Toussaint was born on November 1, 1939 at Marchand Dessalines, to Servius Jean Baptiste and Angelina Albert. He married Claire Dozilia Seraphin at St. Claire Church of Dessalines in 1964. Then had eight children together, James Angelina, Ramy, Noel, Marie Dina, Shella, Gauretie et Marc Toussaint. Toussaint was a devoted father and friend. He came to the United States of America in 1969 to visit. However, after eighteen months, he went back to Haiti and worked for the Hatian government as a healthcare professional and a businessman. He valued his homeland and had a very close relationship with those in his community. He often laughed and joked with them. In 1997, he came back to the United States and brought his family with him. He was a strong man and a very hard worker. He worked for many different companies until he retired in 2008. Toussaint was admired and loved by anyone he encountered in his lifetime. He lived life to its fullest, but always prioritized his family. He was truthful, honest and ready to help those in need. A true collaborator, a man with a remarkable ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He set aside time to socialize with his family and friends. He uplifted those around him with laughter and touched many lives. He was well mannered and respectful. He will be profoundly missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 9:00 AM at Mont Des Oliviers SDA Church, 244 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Family will receive guest from 8:00 AM until time of service in the church. Interment will take place at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
