Quincy Marquel Austin Obituary (1989

Quincy Marquel Austin, 30, of Danbury, CT passed away on August 22, 2020. He was born on November 22, 1989 to Rachael J. Austin and Don M. Short. After graduating from Danbury High School he attended Naugatuck Community College. Over the years Quincy has served as a Child Care Provider, a Security Guard, Customer Relations Representative and a Technical Support Associate. Quincy touched the hearts of many who encountered him whether it be through his praise dance, selfless gestures or amazing smile. His creativeness could be found in the mystery dishes he prepared (which tasted better than one expected) as well as in his designs for his company, The House of ReN, for which he was in the process of completing his second collection. He was a choreographer and founding member of the Joy Bells, a praise dance group of children ages 3 years 18 years. The Joy Bells performed at various cultural and spiritual events. Quincy was a proud young man who embraced his culture and was not afraid to stand his ground as most of his friends and family would know. He spoke his truth with unapologetic conviction. His friendship represented loyalty, honesty and an anchor of support. Quincy is predeceased by his grandfather: Blaze H. C. Austin; stepgrandfather, Claude Dickens; uncles, Derrick X. Dickens and Dayton Mason; nephew, Mikel Pinnock. He is survived by his mother, Rachael J. Austin and father, Don M. Short (Wanda); brother, Jason L. Austin; grandparents: Beulah Dickens, Barbara J. Short and Alton O. Short, Sr.; sisters: Tamika Cutchin (Andre) and Ashley McGee; aunts: Wandalynn Short, Vannessa Allen and Sharon Y. Austin-Christy; uncles: Alton Short, Jr. (Tracee), David J. Short (Rayenda) and Joshway Short; nieces: Mikayla Pinnock, Malaika Pinnock, Jaiana Breece-Austin, Jayde Breece-Austin, Janai Breece-Austin, Jasiya Breece-Austin, Amayia Cutchin and Aiyana Cutchin and a host of relatives. Quincy, you will be missed by all!
