Nigel Drayton Obituary (1977

Nigel Anthony Drayton, a beloved son, husband, father and friend, died on January 6, 2011, at the age of 33, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. Nigel Drayton was born on March 6, 1977 in Montego Bay, Jamaica to Shirley Stanrod and Lloyd Drayton. He was educated in the Norwalk Public School System and was a graduate of Gibbs College. Nigel leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Yelitza; his children, Eliani and Anderson; his mother Shirley Stanrod of Bridgeport, Connecticut; his father Lloyd Drayton of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica; his beloved grandmother, Asverga Wright of Bridgeport, CT; his uncle Leroy (Bernadette) Stainrod of Norwalk, CT; his aunt Rosemarie (Alvin) Frager of Stratford, CT; two sisters, Odette (Dwight) Drayton-Sutherland of Jacksonville, FL; and Tamara (Alex) Drayton-Lee of Ontario, Canada; two brothers, Patrick (Samantha) Drayton of Patterson, NJ and Fabian Drayton of Pennsylvania. He is further survived by three great aunts, Doris Wright and Princess Wright of Norwalk, CT and Dathlyn Grey of Asbury Park, NJ; cousins Faith and Blake Pierce of Stratford, CT; Daniel Perkins, Timothy Stainrod, Lentine Fletcher, of Norwalk, CT; Joyce (Kurt) Guytan of Bridgeport, CT; Dorothy Hudson of Toronto, Canada; Stephanie Grant, Ruby Ross, Sharon (Dwight) Brown and Lloyd (Carmelita) Gillies of Anchorage, Alaska; Godfather, Ashton Jones of New York; close friends and adopted brothers, Roberto DeJesus, Kevin Pierce, Dewitt Stevens III, and Scott Chery all of Norwalk, Ct; the beloved Pierce family as well as a host of other cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at John 3:16 Pentecostal Church, 8 Woodward Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M. Interment immediately after service at St.John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut 06854.
