Beulah M. Dixon Obituary (1930

Rev. Beulah Dixon entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 9, 2020 in her home in Stratford CT. She was born to the late Garfield Miller and Beulah McArthur Miller in Kenansville, N.C. on December 18, 1930. She was educated in Duplin County School System in N.C. She married the handsome and suave Elbert Dixon in South Carolina on December 18, 1953. The couple began their married life in Bridgeport CT later moving to Stratford, where they raised two children Cynthia (Fernandes, spouse Keith) and Bradley (deceased). Rev. Dixon was predeceased by her husband, her son, a grandson, (Andreas Jones-Dixon), and her eight siblings, Johnny-Frank, Jimmy, Oberry, Alberta, Joseph, Janie, Leroy, and Matthew. She leaves to mourn grandchildren: Faith Fernandes, Brandon Dixon, Bryant Dixon, Brent Dixon, Vincent Jones-Dixon, Porsche Lazeney, Arelle Dixon, Quentin Dixon, and Bishop Dixon. There are a host of great-grandchildren. She was particularly loved by Kimberely Dixon-McCleary and Patricia Montgomery-Dixon. She will be missed by her special God-children David and Beverly Blackwell and their children. She will be missed by all of her nieces and nephews who called to check on her and visited when possible. She will be missed by a host of friends. She worked throughout her life as an early childhood educator, opening her own business, Happy Hours in 1971 where she cared for children for 20 years. She accepted a call to the Gospel ministry and was ordained under the late Rev Dr. William O. Johnson on February 17, 1985 I first Baptist Church of Stratford. She and Elbert later joined Friendship Baptist Church where they worshiped for the remainder of their lives. We loved and knew her, but God knew and loved her best. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM, Baker-Isaac Funeral Services, 985 Stratford Ave, Bridgeport, CT. Family will receive guest from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Chapel. Interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave, Bridgeport, CT. The services will be Live-Streamed staring at 10:00am please feel free to join and support the family if you will not be able to physically.
