Thercy Yvel Boulay

–

Bridgeport, Connecticut

Thercy Yvel Boulay the son of Gertha Louis was born on April 8, 1992, at St Josephs Hospital in Stamford, CT. Thercy tragically departed this life on October 4, 2021.

Thercy Boulay, affectionally known as Icon, was a resident of Stamford, CT until the age of 10, thereafter he and his mother relocated to Bridgeport, CT. He was educated in the Bridgeport Public School system earning his Diploma from Central High School in 2010. Thercy was a shy kid, with a loving spirit. He often sat quietly and observed his surroundings. At a young age you could tell Thercy knew the importance of being watchful and analytical; he felt it was the best way to learn about the world around him. He was definitely a student of life, exemplifying the saying: "you learn something new every day." He was not only about his academics as a kid, but he would also often be found playing a pickup game on the basketball courts. Overall, he was full of love, laughter, genuine good times, and millions of jokes.

Professionally, Thercy was a Chef at Maplewood Assisted Living, in Norwalk, CT. A career path he began unbeknownst to him at the tender age of 5. Thercy would spend hours in the kitchen with his mother eagerly learning every recipe that she was willing to teach him. He took so much pride in his craft that as an adult he would prefer to be alone in the kitchen with his masterpiece, which was usually lasagna. Cooking just came natural to him and he knew that food made people feel good; he even used brownies to settle arguments. If he knew you were upset with him, he would just bring you a snack and maybe a Pepsi and to him the fight was settled! While cooking was a craft he perfected, he was also passionate about art. Thercy loved to show his creativity and express himself in his drawings. He valued art because it allowed people to visually show their individuality/personality, which is why he enjoyed creating tattoos. Thercy also had plans on becoming a truck driver and purchasing a motorcycle. He loved the idea of being on the open road where he could ponder about life and listen to Sheff Gs music on blast.

Thercy was a great conversationalist because he knew about any topic any person brought up. He was always in the house watching documentaries, reading internet articles, and exploring history. He really loved to learn and research mostly because he loved to be right! He wanted to be the person in the room who could never get stumped in a debate; so, he had to know the most about the most. At the end of the dialog, he would usually agree with you or end a statement by say "facts cuz." If by chance he was not watching a documentary, then he would be caught enjoying his favorite movies: Paid in Full or one of the Friday Saga films. However, if you were very close to him, you could find him doing what he really loved and that was eating pizza and enjoying ninja turtles, a show that he secretly thought he was destined to be apart of one day.

He valued the family who surrounded him. His priority was protecting his mother and always being close to her even as an adult he never wanted to leave her alone and would support her in whatever way he could. He also found solace in his relationship with Monica. True to his nature he won her over and gained her love with a 4-hour conversation after their 1st date and the two were inseparable ever since. Yet, Thercy valued being a father more than anything else. He took his relationships with his children seriously making sure to have individual bonds with them and creating lasting memories. His children Jaezon Boulay, Carson Boulay, Myracle Moore, and Caine Boulay were his world; they were his pride and joy. He was certainly their fun parent. Always play fighting and handling them in a nonchalant way, not allowing their development to rattle him one bit. He would casually watch them jump off the bed, climb on monkey bars, and cruise down the slide headfirst. He believed in letting the children explore and play never being forceful but rather handling them with the utmost patience. He always figured they could learn more by doing than just being lectured. Thercy wanted to create safe environments for them to be who they are meant to be and if things did not work out, he would try to change the circumstance as much as possible. His favorite quote was "A wise man once said, when a flower doesnt blossom, you dont change the flower you change the environment in which the flower grows." He made sure that each kid had their own time and special thing with him, their own "environment". For Jaezon he became a gamer, with Carson he was a dancing machine, with Myracle he was a human pony and for Caine he became a champion boxer. Though, Thercy liked to be fun, he did not compromise on education. He desired for all his children to end up with college degrees. He desired for his children to have lives of affluence and he believed that started with education and hoped that would eventually equal financial security and wealth. As a person Thercy was very financially responsible, staying knowledgeable about the market trends and how this could affect his childrens future. His greatest dream was for his sons and daughter to be cultured, intelligent and wealthy.

He was not only about his kids, Thercy did not play when it came to his look, he also took time to make sure he was dressed to the nines. He absolutely loved to get dressed. From 3-piece suits and dress shoes to a fresh pair of "Buttas" (Timbs), he always attempted to be best dressed. His outfit however would not be complete without a bow tie and suspenders after all those were his signature. It has to be said his most notable accessory was his smile. You could see his infectious 100-watt smile from miles away and luckily every one of his children inherited that beautiful grin.

When Thercy wasnt with his loved ones or working he enjoyed traveling. He loved going to Las Vegas, Canada, Haiti, and other places in the US. Still for him there was no place like home; even during his travels, he would be eager to get home so he could take things (anything) apart and rebuild it. He was fascinated by how things worked. This affinity began in childhood when he created large fixtures with the smallest Legos and then he began constructing model cars advancing all the way to electronics. That was Thercy always exploring, questioning, discovering, and joking. Thercy was ALWAYS joking around. He would probably call himself a champion roaster. He showed his affection and openness to people he cared about by playfully making fun of them, and because he was a wordsmith he never ran out of jokes. His smile, sense of humor and glee for learning is a legacy he leaves for all the treasure.

Thercy Yvel Boulay leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Gertha Louis. Three sons Jaezon Hook-Boulay, Carson Hook-Boulay, and Caine Boulay, One daughter Myracle Moore. The love of his life and best friend Monica Selittes; and a host of Family and Friends.
