Reheim Dax McKnight Obituary (1972

Reheim (Ra-Ra) Dax McKnight was born September 5, 1972 in Bridgeport, CT, to Denise Marie McKnight and Michael Taylor. Reheim grew up in Bridgeport where he was educated in the Bridgeport Public School System. In his youth Reheim attended Trinity Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Bishop A. L. Gilliam, where he sang on the choir and participated on the youth board. He was currently a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in New London, CT, where the Pastor is Bishop Benjamin K. Watts. At Shiloh Reheim was an usher and a member of the Mens Ministry and the Prodigal Son Mens Retreat. He also co-facilitated an AA 12-STEP Recovery meeting at the Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown, CT. Reheim was employed at the Hard Rock Caf at the Foxwoods Casino located in Mashantucket, CT as a cook. He was by trade a Roofer and did Carpentry and Brick Mason work, and able to work well with his hands. Reheim loved holidays, family gatherings and good food. He had a special gift of concern for the elderly. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. If he was available he would always help in any way that he could. He especially enjoyed serving at the Mothers Day Luncheon held at the church. He enjoyed music and was a Giants football Fan. His memories will be cherished by those who loved him so deeply. His Children - Yasin, Qasim, Davon (Tarrona Davis) and Malachi all of Bridgeport, CT. His Siblings Daee McKnight (Sherry), Rasheeda Crawford and David McKnight (Christina), Angelique Taylor and Tavares Cosby all of Bridgeport, CT; Kamrin Crawford (Andrea) of Ansonia, CT; Erica Anderson of Baltimore, MD and Latasha Cosby-Woods (Kent) of Lawrenceville, GA. A special friend Christina Lopes, and Jemel and Jayvon of Griswold, CT. His Beloved Grandmother, Lorraine Barnes of Trumbull, CT. His Maternal Aunts, Sunny G. Geter of Bridgeport, CT and Jaqueline "Lulu" Brown (Kevin) of Stockbridge, GA and Constance (Penny) Dennis. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is pre-deceased by his mother Denise Marie McKnight, his father Michael Taylor and grandfather Alphonso (Sonny) Geter. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 26th 2017 at New Beginnings Outreach Ministry, 1135 William Street Bridgeport, Connecticut, CT 06608. Viewing will be from 10:00 am -11:00 am and the funeral will begin at 11:00 am.
