Prentice R Ellis, Sr. Obituary (1950

Prentice Rudolph Ellis was born on July 17th, 1950 to Laura Ellis and Freddie Capell. At a very young age, he relocated with his parents to Connecticut, living the majority of his life in Norwalk while also having homes in Stratford and Shelton. He departed this life on July 3rd, 2019 at Cassena Care in Norwalk. Educated in the Norwalk school system, Prentice met the love of his life Christine Mickle at Brian McMahon School in the 60s. They fell in love and were married on February 7th, 1970, living in Norwalk before also living in Stratford and Shelton. After Christines death in 1989, Prentice returned to Norwalk where he lived as a single parent. Employed as a maintenance man by the Norwalk Housing Authority before becoming a truck driver with both Perkin Elmer and Emory trucking companies, Prentice enjoyed Sunday drives with his family, sci fi and action movies and dressing well. He enjoyed eating cashews, New York cheesecake and oatmeal cookies with applesauce. He was known for carrying a camera with him at all times to family events and parties with friends and took pride in taking pictures. Prentice was deeply loved by his family and friends and was a very compassionate and loving man, husband and father. Prentice was predeceased by his mother Laura Ellis, father Freddie Capell and wife Christine (Mickle) Ellis. He is survived by 4 sons, Prentice Rajean Ellis Jr of Norwalk, Garrett Drew Ellis of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, William and Spencer Davis of Norwalk, as well as daughter in law Dayona (Jones) Ellis. He has 6 Grandchildren and 1 great grandson: Christopher Holley, Denver Lark, Jair Ellis, Jireh Ellis, Joy Ellis and Jaxon Ellis and Xavier Holley. His extended family includes cousins and aunts in Michigan, Alabama and Florida, his loving and supportive in-laws of Norwalk and Stratford, the Mickles, Kingwoods and Thigpens, as well as a host of friends across the tri state area and east coast.
