Patricia Louise Goode Powell McCoy Obituary (1947

Patricia Louise Goode Powell McCoy, age 65, native of Bridgeport, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013. She was born September 19, 1947 to Linda Goode and the late Raymond Goode. Pat (affectionately known by family and friends) attended St. Johns School in childhood and graduated from Central High School in 1965, furthering her education by graduating from Housatonic Community College. Pat was known for her excellence of service to her Bridgeport community and was admired, revered and loved by everyone. Her class and grace has been and will always be unmatched, for she is known as a woman of honor and unyielding strength. Pat began working for the City of Bridgeports Health Department in 1980 and retired after thirty years of service with the Citys Department of Vital Statistics. Her dedication to service issued her the declaration of Patricia McCoy Day September Seventeenth officiated by Bridgeports Mayor Bill Finch. Patricia was a lifelong member of Walters Memorial AME Zion Church located in the South End of Bridgeport. She proudly represented her office of Deaconess, as she believed in service to the Church and commitment to God. Patricia Louise leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Linda Goode; sisters, Wilhelmina McCoy and Raenice Goode; daughters, Kim Lee, Amy Espinosa and Lesha Powell; former husband, Clarence Powell; niece, Nichelle Holmes; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is predeceased by beloved husband Donald McCoy. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at Mt. Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The viewing will begin at 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Interment immediately following at Mountain Grove Cemetery Easton.
