Ozie Mikel, Jr. 78 of Stamford departed this life December 30, 2009 at Stamford Hospital. He was the husband of Blondyne (Newell) Mikel. He was born September 17, 1931 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Ozie Mikel, Sr. and Irene Robinson. He worked as a Professional Upholsterer for Metro North Railroad until his retirement. In addition to his loving wife, He leaves to cherish his memory 8 children, 4 sons and 4 daughters: Vanessa Mikel, Valerie Mikel, Lyneal Mikel, and Shirley Mikel; Sean Mikel, Kenneth Mikel, Stephen Mikel, and Ozie Mikel, III (aka Junior); His Twin-sister Pearl Mikel Shippman, sister Edie Mae Mikel (both of California); sister Owetta Mikel Faulkner and brother Edward Mikel (Alberta) both of Norwalk, CT; additional Sisters-in-law Vanessa Newell, Linda Prescott, a host of grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The Viewing for family and friends is 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday, January 8, 2010 at Baker Funeral Chapel, 84 South Main Street, Norwalk, CT 06854 and Interment is private. Flowers are welcome on Friday, January 8, 2010 from 12:00 Noon through 4:30 PM at the Funeral Home.
