Owetta Faulkner Obituary (1934

Owetta Sweetie Faulkner of Norwalk departed this life on Thursday, October29, 2015. She was born on May 8, 1934 in Meldrim, Georgia to the late Ozzie and Irene Mikel. She was the fourth of seven children. She attended public schools in Savannah, Georgia. Owetta migrated to Norwalk, CT in the early 50s. It was here she met and married the late Charles Faulkner. She became a member of the Calvary Baptist Church on July 6, 2003, and served faithfully, until her health failed, as a member of the Senior Choir, (which is currently known as the Sanctuary Choir), the CLW Missionary Society and a faithful to the Adult Class of the Sunday School. She leaves to mourn her passing, her brother Edward Mikel (Alberta) of Norwalk, a sister Eddie Mae Carroll of Highland, CA and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. she was predeceased by two brothers, Ozzie and Joseph Mikel and two sisters, Willie Pearl Shipman and Corine V. Wright of Norwalk, CT. Services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, 21 Concord Street, Norwalk, CT 06854. The viewing will be 6:00 PM until time of service at 7:00 PM at the church. Interment, Thursday November 5, 2015, 10:00 AM at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton, CT.
