Melanie Nicole Varandas Obituary (1980

Melanie Nicole Varandas was granted her angel wings on July 24, 2017. Heaven is rejoicing because she is welcomed into Gods marvelous kingdom. The Lord received one of His best angels. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Melanie had touched in small way throughout her prosperous, yet memorable life. Melanies life would seem too short to many, but those who knew here were touched and understand that the quality of her life exceeds the quantity of time in which she lived. Her gentle smile, her kind heart and her special laughter has brought so much joy to our family and to her friends. Her courage, love and hope reminded us of the preciousness of life. Melanies favorite activity in life was spending time with her husband and children. She enjoyed listening to Mariah Carey and her favorite color was purple, which was the color that signifies royalty. She reigns in royalty with our savior Jesus Christ. Melanie worked for St Vincents Hospital as a Medical Receptionist for 3 years. She was a dedicated worker and always made herself available to help and assist anyone at all times. She always gave you a smile and made certain that you received the utmost respect. That was a special quality in Melanie in which she has passed down to her children. Melanie is survived by her husband, Chris Varandas; two daughters, Autumn Perry and Anessa Varandas; one son, Christopher Varandas; her mother, Robyn Yvonne Gist; two sisters, Tara Gist and Sharon Joyner; god-daughter, Alea Than; her mother-in-law, Kim Bortnyik; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence (Pouche) Gist; and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 96 South Main St, Norwalk, CT. Family will receive guest from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
