Magaline Elizabeth Massenburg Obituary (1944

Magaline Elizabeth (Maggie) Massenburg, 72, of Raleigh, NC passed away on October 9, 2016 at Secu Hospice in Johnsonville, County, NC. She was born on September 8, 1944 to the late Robert and Mada Massenburg in Wake County, Raleigh, NC. Magaline attended Rileyhill High School in Wendell, NC. Maggie worked hard as a shirt presser in the Dry Cleaning industry for over 20 years, employed by Minute Man and Dworkins Dry Cleaners of Fairfield and Westport, CT. After retirement, she was a volunteer with other seniors providing packaged meals, holiday planning and tenant activities at Glenwood Towers, Raleigh, NC. Maggie was a hard worker and loving mother. Her chopped barbecue and sweet potato pies will be missed. Maggie is survived by her loving children: two sons, James Reid (Heather) of New London, CT and Timothy Massenburg of Bridgeport, CT; one daughter, Reverend Tonianett Mack of Bridgeport, CT; two brothers, Robert Massenburg (Mary) of Newark, NJ and Major Massenburg of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Reverend Alene Garrett (Lester) of Clayton, NC; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Barbara Reid Anyawu.
