Lillian Elizabeth (DeValda) Richardson affectionately known as Peaches, was born to the late Ferdival DeValda and Lillian Moore on February 16, 1926, in Harlem, NY. She had 7 brothers Arnold, Leo, Rodney, Frederick, John, Stanley and George; and 2 sisters: Mildred and Marva.
Lillian moved to Stamford, CT where she met and married her husband Leon Richardson. They had four children from their union named Frederick (Fred), Leon (Lee Lee), Emily and Patricia. She was the anchor and matriarch of the family. Whatever she put her hand to do, she did it with joy and humility. Peaches had more than enough unconditional love to share with everyone. She
added a new dimension to selfless. She always put others needs above her own. She was the greatest caregiver of all times and she never got tired of caring for her family and friends. She was an amazing lady who will live in the hearts and minds of many. This may sound clich, but she truly broke the mold when GOD created her. She fought a good fight of faith; she was the real MVP. She rose above all lifes obstacles and was a beacon of light for everyone that had the opportunity to cross her path. She always had an encouraging word; you werent allowed to be down in the dumps in her presence. She was easy to love and no matter where you resided, she made it a point to make a wellness visit to make sure you were alright. She loved to travel and had an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed spending quality times with family and friends. She was someone you could always count on to make you laugh because she was a true jokester at heart. Well all miss her telling everyone to have a blessed day! Even when she was going through her personal physical ailments, she still had kind words to share and she would always manage to tell everyone to have a blessed day. If you had an encounter with her, youd never forget it. She was kind, loving,
supportive, giving, funny, encouraging, a safe harbor and was always ready to engage in a good conversation. She was a great cook that could create a whole new meal from leftovers. Her cookbook would be called "Leftovers Recreated." She retired from Pitney Bowes at the age of 62 and afterwards began living life to the fullest. She enjoyed hanging out at the Senior Citizen Center. She was a faithful member of Bread of Life Church in Stamford, CT. This is being written for others to know what we had; she will truly be missed by those who knew her. We can go on and on about her because she will forever reside in our heart.
