Jesse Montgomery, Jr. Obituary (1947

Jesse Montgomery, Jr. was born May 1, 1947 to the late Mary Alice and Jesse Montgomery, Sr. in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He graduated from Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina in 1967. Jesse was employed at Bridgeport Bass for 20 years and First Student Bus Company for over 40 years. He also was a training instructor at Laidlaw in Wilton, Connecticut and worked as a clerk at Shell Gas Station in Westport, Connecticut. On Monday, December 31, 2012, Jesse went peacefully with the Lord. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jesse leaves to cherish his memories, a loving daughter, Kathy W. (Antonio) Hammond; son, William Witherspoon, both of Kingstree, South Carolina; sisters, Daisy Ruth Steward of Norwalk, Connecticut and Dale Elaine (Gary) Brown of Santee, South Carolina; aunts, Leila Givens, Bernice Bryant, Essie Williams of Jersey City, New Jersey, Lillie Profit of Washington, D.C., and Mary Lee Profit of Santee, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Willie L. Montgomery. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 19 Academy Street, Norwalk, CT 06850. The viewing will begin at 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, Norwalk.
