Ionie West Obituary (1942 - 2022) - Stratford, Connecticut

Ionie E West, born Ionie E Dewar was born on March 6, 1942 in Carnwald Mountain, Westmoreland, Jamaica to the late Gordon Dewar and Icelyn McKayle. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 30, 2022. Ionie graduated from Carnwald Secondary School in Westmoreland, Jamaica and later graduated from the The School of Nursing in Alexandria VA. She married Rudolph Spence in 1969, remarried to Matthew West in 1984. She relocated to Stratford, CT with her son Patrick Price in 2017. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Clover Williams; three brothers, Cecil Aka, Norris William and Leroy Dewar; seven children, Paul Allen, Andrew Allen, Patrick Price, Mark Price, Sharon Spence, Oneil Spence and Judy Spence. Grandchildren: Tommy Spence, Bianca Allen, Carletta Ferron, Tadjeay, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Lorenzo, Dumont, Maurice, Shaniecka, Amber, Marckayle and Hailey Price. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM, Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 1277 Stratford Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Family will receive guest from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport.
