Hyacinth Holness Obituary (1955

Hyacinth M. (Wilson) Holness was born on July 13, 1955 to parents Gertrude and Ivan Wilson in Sav-La-Mar Westmoreland Jamaica. She had 9 siblings (four sisters and five brothers). Her father Ivan Wilson predeceased her as well as two of her siblings, one brother and one sister. She attended Godfred Stewart High School where she enjoyed playing net ball and after graduating she attended Global Christian University where she obtained her ministerial degree. Hyacinth also studied at Nova Southeastern University where she received her Masters Degree. She met and married George Holness and from this union was born Omar, their only child. Hyacinth became a Reverend for the Assembly of God Church in Jamaica where she enjoyed preaching the word of God. She worked for the Tax Administration Jamaica for forty-five years and was responsible for the western region of the island of Jamaica. She retired in 2015 and transitioned to America in 2017. After settling in American she became an assistant living aide which she enjoyed doing. She loved her family, preaching Gods word (which was a large part of her life) and helping others. Hyacinth passed on Wednesday, July 29th. She leaves to mourn her husband George, son Omar, daughter-in-law Dacia, three (3) sisters, four (4) brothers and four (4) grandchildren.
