Henry Bohannon

Henry Gerald Bohannon was born on August 1, 1943 in Coweta, GA to Freddie Sr. and Remoldus Bohannon. He relocated to Bridgeport and was educated in the Bridgeport Public School System where he attended Bullard-Havens Technical High School. After leaving high school, Gerald obtained employment at Bodine Corporation where he retired after 37 years of service.

Gerald united with the Mt. Aery Baptist Church at an early age where he remained a committed member throughout his life. Gerald enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling throughout the U.S. to visit family. You would often find Gerald having breakfast and lunch with friends in Downtown Bridgeport. He loved his family and served as the familys patriarch.

Gerald leaves to cherish his memory: son, Isaac Tanksley of Nevada, and granddaughter, Celeste Tanksley; beloved bonus daughter, Amber Rogers, and grandsons, Aidan Sears and Liam Hill; godson, Riyadh Shelton; six siblings: Freddie Bohannon and sister-in-law Mina of Florida, Sandra Dunn of North Carolina, Margaret Bohannon of Connecticut, Yvonne Bryant of Louisiana, Kevin Bohannon of Connecticut, Mary Ellen Bohannon of North Carolina; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Gerald was predeceased by his daughter Dana Bohannon, his parents Freddie Sr. and Remoldus Bohannon, and his siblings Peggy Bohannon, Sharon Bohannon, Otis Bohannon, and Calvin (Joe) Bohannon.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM, Mt. Aery Baptist Church, 75 Frank Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Family will receive guest from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley Street, Bridgeport, CT.
