Gustavo Azael Torres Obituary (1984

Gustavo Azael Torres was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Georgina and Gustavo Torres Sr., on June 29, 1984. As the eldest of their three children, Gustavo was very protective of his younger brother and sister. At the age of three, Gustavo discovered his love of art and cultivated a creative mind that led him to receive a Governor high school scholarship, a high school diploma from Snyder High School, and an associate degree of fine arts from Hudson County Community College. Art was not only Gustavos first love, but also a therapeutic outlet that encouraged him to see the world through a different lens. Gustavo nurtured his mind through art, which always kept him grounded to who he truly was. He was a renaissance man in every sense of the word, constantly experimenting with different artistic mediums to find new ways of self-expression. Gustavo began delving into film and photography, working with his wife Francesca, to create their photography company, Optik21. Gustavo was a wonderful son to his parents and a compassionate brother to his younger siblings. He was also a devoted husband looking forward to fatherhood, and a supportive friend. Gustavo was a beautiful person inside and out with a gentle and influential soul who was always selfless to anyone in need in a way that can be rare to find. On Saturday April 20th, 2019, God called Gustavo home at the age of 34. Gustavo is survived by his loving wife Francesca Andre as well as his soon to be born son Gustavo Jr. His parents Georgina and Gustavo Torres Sr., and his siblings, Gary Andie Torres, Jennie Ifanis Torres, Karen Ninoska Marphis, and Gustavo Alberto Torres Jr. He is also survived by numerous uncles and aunts, along with cousins, nieces, nephews, and his dog Soley Torres. Gustavo is predeceased by his grandparents, Rose Blake and George Jemmott and Ana Cardoze and Juan Grajales; and his aunts Donna Freeza and Julie Smith and his uncle Nicholas Frezza. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
