Gladys Hatton Ebron

Gladys Hatton Ebron, age 82, of Naugatuck, CT the beloved wife of the late James Hollin Ebron, peacefully passed away into eternal rest on October 21, 2015. Born in Bridgeport, CT on January 17, 1933, she was the eldest child of James Hatton and Marjorie Frazier Hatton.

Gladys grew up in a loving home as a young child in Stratford, CT. She was a graduate of the Stratford School system.

At an early age Gladys was baptized and joined Mt. Aery Baptist Church under the great Rev. A.C. Bass. Gladys enjoyed singing in the choir and being involved in many church activities.

Gladys and James Ebron were blessed with six children: Nellie Champion Bey of Washington, DC; Russell Barber (Diane) of Raleigh, NC; Valeria Fernandez of Bridgeport CT; Robert Ebron of Waterbury, CT; Shellay Ebron of Bridgeport, CT and Margie Ebron of Waterbury, CT.

Gladys had twelve beautiful grandchildren, five wonderful great grandchildren and one sweet great-great grandson.

In addition to her children, Gladys is survived by her only sister, Betti C. Jackson; two brothers, Edwin Donald and Cleave Eugene Hatton; five sister-in-laws, Maggie Ebron, Eula Mae Doman, Charlene Crenshaw, Marie King Hatton and Charmaine Hatton. One aunt, Jean Frazier Swilling; very special nieces, Donna Jackson, Esther Hatton and Raynelle Swilling and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and life-long friends.

Services were held at Mount Aery Baptist Church on November 19, 2015.
