Earl Thomas Purdie Obituary (1952

Earl Thomas Purdie 56 of Norwalk departed this life October 14, 2008 in Norwalk. He was born to Cora Purdie and the late Julius Earl Purdie on June 26, 1952 in Whiteville, NC. Earl was a resident of Norwalk most of his life, he attended Rowayton Elementary, Roton Middle schools and graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1970. He then served in the United States Marine Corps Platoon 100 1972. Earl worked for the City of Norwalk for over 18 years, and also worked at Klaffs Inc. Earl was an avid lover of football, golf and Jazz Music. Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk seemed like his second home! Earl was deeply devoted to his family whom he loved so much. He was so friendly, a wonderful and happy guy. Earl, better known as Uncle Shake to his family and friends will be greatly missed and leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Cora Purdie of Norwalk, brothers Douglas (Wendy) Purdie, Keith Purdie (Joy) of Bridgeport, CT; Michael Purdie of Melbourne, FL; Brian Purdie of Charlotte, NC; sisters Vanessa Purdie of Norwich, CT; Anita Reid (George) Lolita Purdie of Norwalk, CT; and Lisa Harewood of Atlanta, GA; 2 granddaughters, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His daughter Lisa Limiggiao preceded him in death. Viewing is 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM followed by a brief celebratory service on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Baker Funeral Chapel, 84 S. Main St., Norwalk; and Interment at Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk. A repast will follow the Interment at the Laurel Club, 13 North Avenue, Norwalk.
