Claude Dennis Obituary (1928

Claude Dennis, 82, departed this life on February 19, 2011 in Astoria Park Convalescent Home. Claude was born on April 9, 1928 in Ivan, South Carolina to the late Richard and Willie Dennis. Claude was educated in Bridgeport Public Schools. He was also a member of Mount Aery Baptist Church for many years. After many years of service, Claude retired from Bridgeport Brass and Laidlaw Bus Company. He leaves to cherish in his memory, two daughters, Lynn Dennis and Stacey (Charles) Kendrick of Bridgeport; son, Bryan Dennis of Waterbury; brother, James Nathan Dennis of Bridgeport; three sisters, Kathie Dennis of Bridgeport, Robbyn Dennis-Robinson of Mississippi, and Victoria Dennis-Carl of North Carolina; nineteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his wife Joan Dennis; son Claude R. (Richie) Dennis; daughter Karen Dennis-Craft; two sisters, Doris Jeffers and Virginia (Duke) Dennis; brother, Randy Dennis Sr., and loving mother, Genevieve Dennis. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 24, 2011 at MT. Aery Baptist Church. The viewing will begin at 5:00 PM until time of service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
