Charles Mitchner, Jr. Obituary (1931

Charles Mitchner, Jr., 88, of New Britain, CT, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 6, 2019. He was born in Cuthbert, GA on February 23, 1931, a son of the late Rebecca (Butler) Mitchner and Charles Mitchner, Sr. Charles attended the Cuthbert, GA public school system. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1954. Charles was retired from Stanley Black & Decker in New Britain, CT where he worked for many years. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time on the golf course with friends. He also enjoyed cooking and watching Western movies. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife and companion of 28 years, Florence Goins; a sister, Deloris Martin of Waterbury, CT; two brothers, Donald Mitchner of East Hartford, CT and Ronald Mitchner of Delaware; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, three step-children; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Steward Davis, Robert Mitchner and Carlton Mitchner and his sister, Mildred Willis.
