Cecil Nichols Obituary (1923

Cecil Donald (Nicoll) Nichols, 91, of Norwalk went to meet his savior on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. He was born to the late Charles and Georgian Nicoll (last of thirteen siblings), February22, 1923, in Westmoreland, Jamaica WI. Cecil married his lovely wife, Norma in Kingston, Jamaica WI. He worked at Reginald Aiken Ltd. for 20 years as a Millwright Foreman before he migrated to America in 1970. During his career, Cecil worked at Bridgeport Brass in Norwalk, CT as a Maintenance Mechanic Foreman and President of the Union. In his later years, he worked for the State of Connecticut Lower Fairfield County Regional Center as a Maintenance Supervisor from where he retired. Cecil was a member of the Mens Choir at Calvary Baptist where he loved going to church. He enjoyed relaxing with friends on the weekends and always looked forward to a good wrestling match. Cecil is survived by his wife, Norma Nichols and five children: step son, Merrick (Nadene) Chuck; daughter, Beverly (Sydney) Thompson; daughter, Vinnett (James) Michel; daughter, Angela (Winston) Jacobs; son, Wayne (Valeria) Nichols. Cecil is also survived by children of previous relationships: son, Errol (Marcia) Nichols; daughter, Sonia Muir; daughter, Marva Nichols; daughter, Sharon (Patrick) Lyons; daughter, Dane Nichols; son, Norman Nichols, predeceased. In addition, he is survived by thirty-eight grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A Special Thanks to the staff at Northbridge Healthcare Center for taking good care of Cecil (Nicoll) Nichols. May God continue to bless their hearts as they diligently care for the sick and elderly. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM 11: AM on Friday, February 27, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church in Norwalk, CT. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Burial will be 12:15 PM 1:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk. Repass will be held at Calvary Baptist 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
