Birdell Keels Obituary (1948

Birdell Keels entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Stamford Hospital. She was 67. Services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church located at 139 Lexington Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service at the church. Born to the late Carrie Anne & Percy Fludd on August 22, 1948 in Santee, SC. Birdell (affectionately called "Dell") attended the Elloree Public School System from which she graduated in 1967 from Elloree High School. Post graduation she relocated to Norwalk, CT where she met and married Jimmy Keels in 1972. She was employed in multiple industries including hospitality and manufacturing during the course of her work history. Her spiritual leadership came from local churches, most significantly Mt. Zion and New Jerusalem Baptist Churches. "Dell" enjoyed many things in life, but got the most pleasure from cooking for friends and loved ones while exhibiting her talent for entertaining. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, siblings, George Fludd; Albertha (Irving) Thigpen; James (Gina) Fludd; Alqueen (Barney) Burden; and Percy (Betsy) Fludd all of Norwalk, CT. Curlee (Willie Mae) Fludd of Santee, SC; Henry (Sandy) Fludd of New Haven, CT. Debbie (Michael) Mercede of Kannapolis, NC; and a special niece Kesha "Stinky" (Terrence) Dancy and a host of nieces nephews and loved ones. Birdell was predeceased by her husband Jimmy Keels, her parents, Carrie Anne & Percy Fludd as well as two brothers, Lewis & JC Fludd.
