Bernice Artis Obituary (1943

Bernice Patricia (Paglinco) Artis age 71, wife of the late Lawrence Artis Sr. departed this life on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. She was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 17, 1943, daughter of the late Raymond Paglinco and Irene Mousette Shultze. Bernice was a lifetime resident and received her education in the Bridgeport school system, attended Housatonic Community College, and retired from the City of Bridgeport in 2005. Affectionately known as Grandmom Pat, she was incredibly kind, and had a way of making everyone she came into contact with feel special. She had a genuine and generous spirit. Honesty was one of her greatest qualities. Bernice leaves to cherish her memories her beloved daughter Ophelia Artis; stepson Stephen Artis; two granddaughters: Orianna Isaac and Alvetreis Artis; three grandsons: Steve Isaac Jr., Kirby Miller Jr. and Allen Miller; one great grandson Jeiel Raggi; five sisters: Sharon, Kathleen, Rosie, Linda, and Lois; one brother: Peter; a special goddaughter Cynthia Hill; two best friends: Marie Lee and Dorothy Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her stepson Lawrence Artis Jr. A memorial service will take place on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Pentecostal Church of Prayer and Deliverance, 1562 Stratford Avenue Bridgeport, CT; Pastor Bishop Reginald Stewart, officiating. Interment will be private.
