Barbara Ann Oliver Obituary (1941

Barbara Ann Gainer was born 12/13/41 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to the late Winifred Gainer. She graduated for Florida A&M University and later received her Masters degree from Fairfield University. Barbara married a devoted and loving husband, Eugene Alexander Oliver and from that union was born Zulika Oliver-Maloney. Eugene & Barbara Oliver were faithful members of Stratford United Methodist Church. She worked for the Bridgeport Board of Education for 33 years and retired this year. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty-five years Eugene Oliver; one daughter, Zulika Oliver-Maloney oy Seymour, CT; a grandson, Zahir Maloney of Seymour & West Haven; a grand-daughter, Myla Maloney of West Haven, CT; a "son-in-law" Mark J. Maloney of West Haven, CT. She also leaves a loving family in Florida, Jess Temple Jr., Kay Levette Anderson, Jacquelynn Jeanne Smith, Jessica Temple, James Washington, Jerome Washington and Tonya Odams. Not to be forgotten by her close friends, Ms. Scarlet Pipkin, Ms. Barbara John, Rev. Dr. Marjories Nunes, Shirley Jakiela & the Ashong Family. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main St., Stratford, CT. Family will receive guests at 9:00am until time of services at 10:00am.
