Cain Shaw, son of the late Julius Shaw Sr. and Cora Lee Bryant was born March 6, 1936 along with twin Abel, in Santee, Orangeburg County, South Carolina and entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at home.He grew up in Santee and attended public school there. Cain was a hard worker, working two full-time jobs for over 25 years. He retired from the City of Norwalk DPW after 28 years and Bridgeport Brass as a Tool Setter after 25 years. Cain was a very family oriented man, who lived for those around him. Taking care of his family was his first priority. Family meant everything to him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. All you had to do was ask, and sometimes you didn’t even have to do that. He would do it out of the kindness of his heart. He enjoyed working, providing for his family, family gatherings, gardening, and liked watching sports especially baseball. His favorite team was the New York Mets. For Cain, the simple things in life were the best. Most important God, Family and being the good person he was. Cain was a kind and respected man to all he came in contact with.In 1959, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Viola(James) Shaw and to this union God blessed them with four children.He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Viola Shaw of 54 years, three daughters, Cynthia (Earl Jr.) Lee, Sheila Shaw, Shirl Shaw of Norwalk, CT., one son, Dwayne (Jean) Shaw of Worcester, MA, children in his heart, Cassandra Patterson Johnson, Bowie, MD, Brian Patterson, Lawrenceville, GA, one sister, Julia Mae Weldon, Norwalk, CT, 4 brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Shaw, Santee, SC, Abel (Lottie) Shaw, Landover Hills, MD, Julius (Gelaine) Shaw Jr., Holly Hill, SC, William (Rudine) Shaw, Oxon Hill, MD., four sister-in-laws, Rosa Lee Williams, Plainfield, NJ, Dorothy James, Norwalk, CT, Della Mae Shaw, Palmer Park, MD, and Flossi Shaw, Landover Hills,MD,three grandchildren, Tamara Shaw, Norwalk, CT, Shayla Shaw, Charlotte, NC, Devin Shaw, Worcester, MA, Grandchildren in his heart, Taylor and Regan Patterson, Lawrenceville, GA, Morgan and Nyla Johnson, Bowie, MD and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends, predeceased by three brothers, Amos Shaw, Mack Shaw and Harvey Shaw.Friends may greet the family on Monday,January 13, 2014 from 10:00 A.M until the time of service at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church 19 Academy Street, Norwalk, CT. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk,CT.
